The 4,700-square-foot office space will be located in 45925 Horseshoe Drive in Sterling, Va., which is part of a designated Loudoun County Opportunity Zone, according to a press release. The startup will use the office space for continued research and product development. The Aperiomics leadership team worked closely with the Loudoun County Economic Development to secure its home.
“When we began searching for a permanent location for Aperiomics to continue its mission of revolutionizing infectious disease identification, we knew that we needed to be in a community that fosters innovation, believes in leading technologies and enables access to talent, services and infrastructure that a visionary company like ours requires to reach its full potential,” Aperiomics CEO Crystal Icenhour said in a statement. “Our roots are in Loudoun County and nowhere else fit the bill quite as well.”
Aperiomics previously worked out of an office space in Ashburn, Va. Last year, Aperiomics first got on our radar when Icenhour competed in the 2018 Vinetta Project pitch challenge. Icenhour pitched in a preliminary and final round to take home the $20,000 grand prize.
Alongside this news, the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors will be discussing a $75,000 commercial business incentive fund grant to develop a lab in the county in the coming months. The decision will be made at the board’s next meeting on June 4.
