Benjamin’s Desk eyes University City, suburban expansion [Startup Roundup]

LifeVest Health launches a countrywide competition, Clutch launches a new mobile wallet feature and Ticketleap is streaming the Olympics in its office.

WHO’S MAKING MOVES?

Rittenhouse Square coworking space Benjamin’s Desk recently expanded. Now it’s eyeing University City and suburban locations, Flying Kite reports.

Invisible Sentinel, the Science Center-based biotech company developing tests for pathogens found in food, developed a test for Listeria, bacteria that’s found in deli meats and dairy products. It was certified by the Association of Analytical Communities, a global organization that “validates analytical test methods for the food industry,” according to a release.

Clutch, the Ambler-based shopping app, launched a mobile wallet feature with Palo Alto, Calif.-based startup Mobeam. It lets users with Samsung smartphones beam barcodes from loyalty cards to laser scanners, according to a release.

Lifevest Health, the Center City startup rethinking workplace wellness, is launching a countrywide competition to see which company can improve its employee health the most. Nine companies are competing, with two from the West Coast and the rest from the East Coast, spokeswoman Grace Dickinson told us. Companies competing include: TicketLeap, a 500-person company in the medical device industry and a 40,000-person technology company.

And, just for fun, we hear that Ticketleap has a special TV set up in its office to stream the Olympics, 24/7.

WHO’S GETTING BUZZ?

OneTwoSee, the social TV companion app, was featured in Digital Journal. “Bloomberg Sports and multiplatform innovator OneTwoSee are leading the charge in the space to create new ways for fans to engage and interact during the games they love,” the article says. Read it here.

“The first thing I say whenever I receive negative feedback or bad news is ‘thank you,'” said RJMetrics cofounder Jake Stein in an interview with executive coach Irina Baranov. Check out RJMetrics’ new office here. Mayor Nutter ribbon cutting to follow.
