Wearable tech firm Beacon & Lively is part of the winter class of Refinery, a Westport, Conn., accelerator for women-led businesses, cofounder Dave Becker told us. There are ten startups in the current class.

His wife, Veronica Becker, is the CEO of the company and travels back and forth between Philly and Connecticut for the program.
It’s a different model from traditional accelerators that invest and take equity. Instead, the program costs $800 and startups can opt to give up to two percent equity to Refinery (though it’s not clear why they would). Beacon & Lively did not give up any equity, Dave Becker said.
Since shutting down its Kickstarter, Beacon & Lively has been doing the fundraising rounds, he told us.
