Canton-based Barcoding Inc. acquired Highlandtown-based NV3 Technologies in a deal announced this week.
NV3 Technologies will rebrand as Power Up with the move.
Terms were not disclosed.
Founded by Ryan Doak and Scott Calhoun, Power Up graduated ETC and is now located in a Highlandtown building adjacent to the incubator. The company makes charging tables, lockers and power banks, often working with large events as well as universities and hospitals. Products are made in Baltimore, and can be customized with digital signage.
Steinmetz said the two companies worked together on an RFID charging solution for a mutual music festival client. They found that has application for locker technology made by Barcoding Inc., which focuses on supply chain automation, Steinmetz said.
“We think we can do things to help them grow,” Steinmetz said.
Power Up’s employees will remain with the deal, and Barcoding Inc, and Steinmetz said they are looking to grow the number of employees.
