Football is a game of emotions.
When texting, the quick swing from frustration and joy is tough to communicate. And what if you’re feeling both things at once? The Baltimore Ravens know this dilemma, and are seeking to help fans get their feelings out with a new emoji keyboard. The team announced the new feature this week.
Football is a game of emoji.
The keyboard features 86 mostly-purple emojis. You can download the full set here.
Some communicate love for a particular player, like Terrell Suggs or even retired greats like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. Speaking of throwbacks, there’s also an emoji immortalizing that brief, confusing period of time when QB Joe Flacco had a fu manchu. The keyboard also adds some Maryland emoji options, with a pair of crabs and the state flag. And don’t forget the purple poo emoji. ?
Swyft Media created the emoji keyboard, and were quick to point out that the Ravens are among the first NFL teams to embrace digital expression.
This being pro football, there’s already competition in the space. The lowly Jacksonville Jaguars also unveiled an emoji keyboard this week, but Swyft said the Ravens were the first to stake out territory by announcing the move.
“Swyft is very excited to be on the ground floor of what will be a growing and evolving way for forward-thinking organizations like the Ravens, as they discover and implement new ways to connect with their fans and followers through cool and interesting branded mobile content,” Swyft cofounder Evan Wray said in a statement.
