TODAY:
- INTERACT, a panel discussion about interactive design. 2640 Space, 2640 St. Paul St. 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. “Join us at the beautiful 2640 space in Charles Village as we present an evening of discussion on the what´s, who´s, how´s, and why´s of interactive design. Khoi Vinh, former design director forNYTimes.com and co-creator of the social-collage app Mixel, will team up with local interactive pros Andy Mangold of Friends of the Web (and other ventures), April Osmanof of Fastspot, and James Pannafino of Millersville University for a lively talk about interactive design.” $35 at the door.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 23:
- Refresh Baltimore: Social Impact Design, The Intersection of Digital + Analog. MICA Graduate Studio Center, 131 W. North Ave. 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. “How do tech developers navigate projects that need analog solutions, and how do social designers navigate projects that require digital solutions? Panelists include Ryan Clifford, Director of the MICA Center for Design Practice; Designer Bryan Connor from The Why Axis; Associate Executive Director at the Neighborhood Design Center, Jennifer Goold; and Shea Frederick, local web developer and OpenGov Champion. Scott Burkholder, Executive Director at the Baltimore Love Project will moderate the conversation.”
FRIDAY, OCT. 25:
- Studio Tours. The offices of ADG Creative, Orange Element and Gilah Press + Design. 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. “We’re taking you inside three different design studios in the Baltimore-area so you can get a behind-the-scenes look at who they are and what they do. This is a unique opportunity to learn from some of the area’s best creative professionals about their businesses and how they’re run.”
