A group of startups from two Virginia-based accelerator programs are pitching at a demo day hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) next week.

The free Virginia Startup Demo Day event welcomes attendees to come see seven startup founders pitch their companies spanning a range of sectors from education to nonprofit and civic engagement. The startups are a part of the 757 Accelerate or the Lighthouse Labs accelerator programs.

The event will take place at the AWS office at 12900 Worldgate Drive in Herndon, Virginia.  The demo day will kick off at 3 p.m. with networking, followed by pitch presentations and a reception with the founders.

Norfolk, Virginia-based 757 Accelerate is a new program that welcomed its inaugural cohort of five startups last year. The three-month program helps startups scale by way of providing capital, making partnership connections and expanding customer bases. Each startup received $20,sta000 in equity-free capital, was connected to a network of mentors and investors, and participated in four demo days to secure more capital. Founders who are a part of this program relocate to the Hampton Roads area of Norfolk to participate in the program full-time.

Lighthouse Labs, a Richmond, Virginia-based accelerator, also puts on a three-month program with $20,000 equity-free seed capital included. The accelerator reports working with 40 companies in the last six years that progressed to raise more than $30 million in capital. Lighthouse Labs is also a member of GAN, a network of seed-stage accelerator programs, investors and partners. Founders who participate in Lighthouse Labs’ program will also gain access to work out of any other accelerator in the GAN network.
