Sungard AS, the Wayne-based spinout from IT services giant Sungard, announced Tuesday it has agreed to sell its enterprise continuity software business to Atlanta-based private equity firm Resurgens Technology Partners.
The business, which employed 80 staffers in Wayne, Pa., will become part of a newly formed company called Assurance Software, Inc.
“Assurance is as focused as ever on driving business continuity through increased engagement, greater effectiveness and more comprehensive awareness,” said Craig Potts, newly appointed CEO of Assurance Software. “The transition will be seamless for customers, and will allow us to focus on further enhancing the software and services offerings to meet users’ needs.”
Potts declined to disclose financial details from the transaction.
Adi Filipovic, principal and cofounder of Resurgens, said the company is well positioned in the niche market, with a some 650 global customers using its SaaS platform to stay up and running when disaster strikes.
“As a standalone entity, coupled with our focus and expertise in developing software businesses, Assurance will further establish itself as the go-to solution for lowering risk, improving resilience and better managing business continuity,” Filipovic said.
