A new pitch competition is set to explore innovative ideas for the future of farming.
MidAtlantic Farm Credit is accepting applications for AgPitch17, which will be held at the Rural Maryland Council Conference on Dec. 1 in Annapolis. The competition has a $7,500 grand prize.
“The agricultural industry is evolving in ways many people never saw coming,” Andrew Rose, marketing manager with MidAtlantic Farm Credit and a founder of the competition, said in a statement. “We’re excited about the direction the industry is headed, both at the local and national level. AgPitch17 gives those who are making strides in our community a platform to share their ideas on how we can make sure agriculture continues to not only thrive, but expand.”

Applications are due Nov. 1.
From there, judges will select five finalists to pitch at the event. Each will receive a cash prize, and the winner gets access to office space, as well as access to legal, accounting and insurance services.
