ADP, the payroll software and services firm, plans to close its office in Owings Mills in September.
The closure of the office will result in layoffs for 123 employees, according to a Work Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed with the Maryland Department of Labor.
The closure of the Baltimore County office, located at 11411 Red Run Blvd., is effective on Sept. 27, according to the documents.
“We continuously monitor our operations for optimization opportunities,” the company said in a statement. “Any actions we may take from time to time are part of our usual operations to manage the business strategically.”
The company opened a regional office in Owings Mills in 1998, according to a Baltimore Sun story from the time. The company also had an office in Baltimore city, which it left in 2005, according to a Baltimore Business Journal story from that time.
“We are very appreciative of the contributions of this team and have support systems in place to help with their transition. We have also arranged to accommodate work from home as appropriate,” the company said.
Based in Roseland, N.J., ADP provides payroll processing for businesses and other human resources services. The company has a total of about 57,000 employees.
