1863 Ventures is looking for the next cohort of businesses for its Emerge Tech spring 2019 accelerator program.
The free accelerator for New Majority, tech-enabled businesses is a five-week pre-seed program focusing on six key areas:
- Brand strategy
- Product and content marketing
- Sales strategy
- Accounting and finance
- Raising capital
- Data driven decisions
The program is looking to attract minority-led businesses that use customer-facing software to run their businesses. After 1863 Ventures reviews applications, leaders will select companies to interview before making final selections. The program will meet twice a week. Once accepted, companies are allowed to send two members to participate in the program.
This is another program emerging from 1863 Ventures after the organization recently concluded its inaugural HERImpact DC initiative, awarding $50,000 in cash and in-kind support to women social entrepreneurs. The organization is also currently running its Pipeline Program, which actively recruits and retains a pipeline of investment ready businesses who can scale through supply chain contracts, tech scouting and joint venture opportunities, as Technical.ly DC previously reported.
The deadline for applications for the Emerge Tech spring 2019 accelerator is April 5 at 5 p.m.
