10 startup pitches from Tech Cocktail’s Philly ‘Showcase’

Tech Cocktail’s Mixer & Startup Showcase series stopped in Center City late last week to get a quick glimpse of Philly’s startup scene.

Current DreamIt Philly member Pico and wearable tech startup Beacon & Lively (both fresh off trips to Vegas for Tech Cocktail’s Celebrate Conference) were two of ten area startups gathered at CityCoHo to pitch their products.

Here are the pitches:

• Vimty: “We’re changing the dynamic from a sick-care system to a health-care system,” said Vimty cofounder Blaine Warkentine of the third-party e-notarization startup. Vimty provides services for aging citizens who want an electronic record of their medical wishes.
• Nfoshare: The recently launched survey utility is the “quickest way to gauge your team’s emotional pulse,” said cofounder Nikhil Paul. Nfoshare taps into the culture of your company and delivers weekly stats via email, he said. Our sister site, Technical.ly Delaware, profiled Nfoshare in August.
• BioBots: “With BioBots, anyone can print with life,” Daniel Cabrera said of his startup’s 3D bioprinter, which he claims to be “the next frontier in tech.”
• Instamour: “It’s a way to avoid bad dates,” says Instamour cofounder (and, full disclosure, Technical.ly contributor) Jason Sherman of the video dating service, now with over 113,000 users.
• Pico: “Download the app, choose the album, take pictures and export the album to Facebook,” said Pico CMO Roi Mozer.
• Smack Innovations: “We’re reinventing the wheel,” quipped founder Gregor Hanuschak, who was thrilled to debut Smack Innovations’ first app, Smack Attack. The app employs the steering wheel cover’s color-coded sensors to turn your steering wheel into a drum pad.
• MEG: “Businesses can manage their mobile experiences through one dashboard,” said mobile product marketing VP Jed Singer. Singer added that MEG is gearing up to “roll out something new.”
• Livegenic: “Customer satisfaction is the biggest metric for everyone right now,” said cofounder Alex Polyakov. The Venturef0rth-based startup enhances customer service support via real-time visual guidance. “Essentially live video for customer service,” Polyakov said.
• Beacon & Lively: “Jewelry first, technology second,” said electrical engineer Joe Crabtree. Case and point: Crabtree was the last to join the Beacon & Lively team.
• Eventuosity: The Baiada Institute-based event planning app “puts all the logistics in management together,” said founder and CEO Justin Panzer, who demonstrated the app’s smooth UI to attendees.
