This Week in Jobs: The (extremely) hot list

Stay cool on the job hunt.

Editor’s note: Every week we ship an email newsletter featuring the region’s most exciting career opportunities. We’ve lovingly called it This Week in Jobs (aka TWIJ — “twidge.”). Below is this week’s edition. Here’s the last one we published; it’s meant to live in your inbox. Sign up for the newsletter here.

Hot! Hot! Hot!

These job listings may be fresh from the oven, but let’s hope this heat wave has finally broken.

Sweltering temperatures last week and through the weekend forced even some dog walkers in the DMV to stay inside. Kudos to you if you were able to take advantage of the extended hours at local pools, dig into the enormous, 100-foot-long ice cream sundae served — when else? — Sunday off U Street, or cool off by contemplating the cold vacuum of space at the Apollo 11 celebration at the Washington Monument.

And if those didn’t do the trick, crank the A/C and stay nice and cool indoors with TWIJ.

The News

If only Bob Loblaw’s Law Blog had this kind of representation. Tech startups across the DMV region now have a legal ally in Nemphos Braue, a “startup sherpa” that’s carved a niche by providing legal advice to entrepreneurs. You worry about securing that Series B, negotiating the rate on that hip new coworking space or simply making the world a better placeGeorge Nemphos and Tim Braue will navigate the legal hurdles.

And for those in the DMV looking to launch the next unicorn, the helpful folks here at Technical.ly have pulled together a rundown of a dozen local organizations helping locals learn to code. From Hear Me Code, Girls Who Code and older sibling Women Who Code, which offer coding classes for women of all skill levels, to Byte Back, which provides a range of career services for adults seeking careers in tech, there’s a seat at the pivot table for everyone.
