SocialRadar releases geolocation dev kit at Apps World

LocationKit can produce location data with up to two-meter accuracy. “We’ll tell you not only the latitude and longitude of our users but also that they’re in Starbucks,” said SocialRadar CEO Michael Chasen.

SocialRadar is set to unveil LocationKit, a geolocation tool offered free of charge to developers, Tuesday at the Apps World exhibition in California.
The product launch has been in the works since SocialRadar’s November acquisition of D.C. startup Gridskippr.
Now in beta, LocationKit can pinpoint a position with up to two-meter accuracy, a battery drain of less than one percent per hour and venue recognition based on a 130 million-strong address book.
“We’ll tell you not only the latitude and longitude of our users but also that they’re in Starbucks,” SocialRadar CEO Michael Chasen told Technical.ly DC last year.
