“We waited on the Game Forge idea for quite awhile,” said Cipher Prime's Will Stallwood. “We needed Philly to hit a point where it could actually be a viable idea.”

The team behind the Philly Game Forge, a coworking space for game developers in Old City, waited until the time was right and then built their space in three days in the fall of 2013.
That’s according to Cipher Prime’s Will Stallwood in a story in New Worker Magazine:

“We waited on the Game Forge idea for quite awhile. The truth is, we needed Philly to hit a point where it could actually be a viable idea. A few years ago we saw that opportunity. There were enough game studios that could move in to offset the cost, so in three days we knocked down the wall and moved everyone in. We had all been waiting on this for long time.”

The crew has since talked of plans to launch a bigger space that also caters to students.
