Conceptually, SaaS company LawIQ sits squarely at the intersection of Silicon Valley and Washington D.C, blending the Valley’s forward-thinking mentality towards technology and data science with D.C.-grade government, policy and law expertise. Literally, the LawIQ team sits either at headquarters in D.C. or an office in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Regardless of location, LawIQ is providing answers for an industry with major global implications.

The energy industry is one of the world’s largest and most important, says LawIQ COO Craig Heilman, so it’s critical that business decisions are made based on data. But, this is not always the case — particularly in the regulatory and legal domains. Making opinion-based decisions that don’t harness the large amounts of publicly available information can create large risks for enormous infrastructure projects. Using proprietary data technology, LawIQ developed a SaaS product that supplies Fortune 100 companies with data-rich regulatory and legal intelligence. Replacing opinions with data has allowed stakeholders across the globe to make informed, objective business decisions based off of the same data points, leading to a more transparent process overall.

Founded by U.S. Navy veterans, who once served as a former energy regulatory attorney and a software and analytics engineer in the Intelligence community, LawIQ is on a mission to both advance the energy industry and serve the greater good.

The team is made of a dynamic mix of highly curious, self-driven experts across the tech and energy industries. The culture is collaborative, customer-centric and just contrarian enough to make impactful change.
