We’ve talked to a lot of technologists about how they find jobs, advance their careers and discover new opportunities in their community. We’ve asked companies, too, how they find tech professionals to help them grow.
One thing we’ve learned from those conversations? Everyone hates the process.
Big job board platforms send tons of unqualified applicants while qualified applicants fall into the “black hole” because their resume didn’t contain the right keywords. This is why the tech sector still relies so heavily on recruiters — it’s the only high-touch strategy that can ensure a quality introduction.
But most of our readers can’t stand recruiters. And we know it, because many of their LinkedIn profiles say so. Recruiter outreach is often uninvited or it misses the mark on how one might want to be engaged.
What’s missing is a talent to company matchmaker.
We’re excited to announce Technical.ly Match beta, a double opt-in direct placement service that fits the needs of today’s workforce and promises to deliver only quality results to both sides of the process.
Join the next phase of Technical.ly’s Match program
In our stealth pilot, more than 2,000 Technical.ly readers from seven states opted-in and 10 companies are actively matching with us. Already, suburban Philadelphia-headquartered Chariot Solutions and Maryland-based Stanley Black & Decker found great technical hires. Philadelphia-based Think Company discovered a software engineer with our Match program. There’s a handful more that were placed during our pilot.
If you already have a job, you may not realize that your next best job is right around the corner. Why not have someone on the lookout for you?
We’re not poaching. We’re embracing a world in which we’re as fulfilled by our work as we can be. An interested and qualified reader is kept completely confidential until they’ve confirmed the opportunity they have matched with is one they are interested in pursuing.
Our goal is to help you discover your next dream job before you even realize, it’s time.
From our founding, our promise has been to serve our readers, make our communities better and fund an independent newsroom that empowers both. This is the next step in that process.
We hope you’ll give Match a try.
