The CyberRisk Alliance’s year-long Official Cyber Security Summit Series makes its halfway stop in the Washington metropolitan area this week.
The cyber-focused community organization is hosting its constituent 10th Annual DC Metro Cyber Security Summit from 7:30 a.m. to 6:25 p.m. on Thursday, July 20 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Tysons Corner, Virginia. The conference aims to inform attendees about defending sensitive business applications and critical infrastructure.
The participation cost is $195 per person, including full access to interactive panels, discussions, catered meals and a cocktail reception. There will also be opportunities for attendees to meet and network with fellow business leaders, cyber experts, government officials and thought leaders.
Those attending the summit can expect briefings from government officials, as well as product and service demonstrations. Various companies will also be giving presentations. For example, IBM will discuss how the increasing threat of AI-driven chatbots and deep fakes can be combated by quantum-safe cryptography. Secureworks will explore using AI and large language models’ applications amid economic uncertainty. Moderated panel discussion topics include cloud security, data privacy, compliance and identity protection and ransomware.
The summit’s keynote speakers are as follows:
- Stephen Dougherty, financial fraud investigator for US Secret Service
- Brian Sevchek, supervisory special agent for US Secret Service
- Ashley Jones and Rahul Mittal, cybersecurity advisors for DC in Region III with the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency
This is the latest event among the series’ myriad constituent gatherings across the country. The next one is July 27 in Pittsburgh, with others coming to Detroit, Philadelphia, Charlotte and more major US cities throughout the fall.
