Elliott Plack uses Foursquare to predict train times at Canton railroad crossing

By combing through roughly 1,600 Foursquare check-ins at 4200 Boston Street, he has compiled a list of times each day of the week when a train is likely to be making its crossing.

In Canton, there’s 4200 Boston Street, and a railroad runs through it. And that railroad is apparently the means of transportation for the “slowest fucking train ever,” according to Allison T. on Foursquare.
GIS developer Elliott Plack has come up with a possible solution. By combing through roughly 1,600 Foursquare check-ins at 4200 Boston Street, he has compiled a list of times each day of the week when a train is likely to be making its crossing.
If you can, avoid 4200 Boston Street at these times. Supposedly — our guess is as good as anyone’s (not really) as to whether there’s enough data on Foursquare to make an accurate prediction of when a train is trudging across 4200 Boston Street.
If that’s the case, just do like Tommy B. and “bring a snack and a drink.”
