Technical.ly explores open data this month with a live digital talk with civic technologists this Friday, Nov. 16, from 1 to 2 p.m.

If you’re not sure exactly what open data is, check out our previous coverage on Open Data Delaware, which hosts monthly coding sessions in Wilmington and Newark, an annual hackathon and special projects like crowdsourcing a new dataset on parking in downtown Wilmington.

The event, held with our sister site Generocity, will be held on our public Slack (if you’re unfamiliar, Slack is a communal instant messaging app for workspaces or other communities, and is free to join).

It will go down in the Technical.ly Slack #ama (“ask me anything”) channel, and will feature folks from the City of Philadelphia, Code for Philly and more, ready to answer your burning questions about open data and civic tech.

This event is brought to you by our Philly HQ, but Delaware civic hackers, data scientists and coders – as well as non-technologists who want to learn more – are encouraged to join in!

For more, see Julie Zeglen’s detailed post about the event on Technical.ly Philly.
