With five companies testing out dockless service, it’s hard to miss all the bikeshare bicycles lying around the city. There’s ofo, JUMP, LimeBike, Mobike and Spin – and the city will make a determination about the future of the program in April. Plus, there’s the pre-existing Capital Bikeshare.
It also means there is lots of new potential for data projects, and the Transportation Techies meetup is looking to bring them together at Bikeshare Hack Night VIII. Renamed slightly from CaBi Hack Night, the event will be held at the Black Cat on February 13.
“This meet-up is a show & tell of apps and data visualizations about any of D.C.’s bikesharing systems,” according to the event announcement. “Do you love open data, data visualizations, and mapping? Can you use your skills to help people find healthy, efficient, and sustainable transportation options?”
The doors open at 6:30 p.m. , with speakers starting at 7:00. in the Red Room Bar. RSVP below:
