LibHack: Hack with librarians from all over the country

LibHack, as the hackathon is called, will have two tracks: one for beginner hackers and one for more advanced hackers who will work on the Digital Public Library API, the API for the less-than-a-year-old "network of digital media from libraries, museums, universities, archives, and other local, regional, and national collections."

LibHack will be held at the Special Collections Center at Penn, shown here. Photo from Penn.

Roughly 11,000 librarians will descend on Philadelphia this weekend for the American Librarian Association Midwinter Meeting. Some of them will spend all Friday hacking, and you can join them.

Non-librarians are welcome, said organizer Zach Coble. It’ll take place at Penn’s Special Collections Center.
