The Wilmington History Society (WHS) will host a showing of the 28-minute documentary on “The Lost Motion Pictures of Brandywine Springs” presented by the Education Department for Historic Red Clay Valley Inc. on Wednesday, June 19, at Chelsea Tavern.
“Picture a combination of PBS or Discovery Channel shows like ‘Antique Road Show‘ and ‘History Detectives,’ with Hollywood-level filmmaking and the flair of Jerry Seinfeld-style stand-up comedy,” said Ben Rapkin of WHS. The doc highlights “the search to get to the bottom of several motion pictures clips … discovered from 1903 Wilmington — the oldest clips that exist of Delaware.”
The free event is the WHS meeting for June, held at the Chelsea Tavern’s private basement location. Meetings, including happy hour, presentation, discussion and networking start and 6 p.m. and wind down at 8 p.m.
The film will start promptly at 6:45 p.m.
