Now's the time to log your interest in hosting a high school tech intern next summer.

I know, it’s not even December yet and I’m about to talk about a summer program, but those preparing for summer interns should still keep this on their radar: Yes, We Tech! is returning for 2024, and it’s seeking companies to participate.

Yes, We Tech! is a summer internship program for rising high school seniors who attend Delaware public and charter schools. It offers on-the-job learning with local companies including tech startups, nonprofits and law firms. Its inaugural summer 2023 cohort’s participating companies included WSFS, Buccini-Pollin Group and the law firm Richards, Layton and Finger. Each week featured two days with the cohort in downtown Wilmington and three days of paid interning, with the program providing interns free transportation, meals and attire. At the end, interns received an IC3 certification for digital literacy and a soft skills certification from Conover.

Delaware companies with office locations in New Castle County are invited to participate in providing work-based learning experiences to technology interns. Those interested should review the Program Overview and complete the Yes, We Tech! Worksite Participation Interest Survey.

Yes, We Tech! is a collaboration between the Tech Council of Delaware, Code Differently and the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League.
