Events Roundup: The end of the hybrid school year is here. Let’s look back on it

Tuesday is the last day of school for Baltimore City Public Schools students. While bringing a collective exhale, whether you’re on Zoom or in the classroom, the end of a year can also offer a moment to reflect. Luckily, Edtech Maryland is offering space to share by hosting a meetup Tuesday night to look back on the lessons learned from the year that mixed online and in-person learning, and how they might apply going forward.

Titled: “Education Post Covid, What did we Learn.” the meetup will evaluate tools that leverage the insight and ability of human instructors while reducing extraneous workload. It will address how to implement those leveraging tools, including administrative buy-in, deployment, and teacher training. Along with discussing a long-term evaluation method to guide continual refinement and potential expansion of enhanced/extended classrooms.

BaltoMSDN: Using CLI/REST API/Powershell to control Azure DevOps

This meetup centers around how most of what can be done in the the Azure DevOps Portal can also be done via the REST API, AZ command line tools, or PowerShell cmdlets. This talk will show you tips and tricks to use these tools to automate common tasks, generate ad-hoc reports, and master Azure DevOps from VS Code, Jupyter notebooks, and the Windows Terminal. MEIA pitch finale

This event is the culmination of work by teams participating in the Maryland Energy Innovation Accelerator’s latest cohort. The winner will receive, $1,000 sponsored by the Maryland Department of Commerce. Webinar – A Simple, Sustainable WordPress.Com Solution for Nonprofits

At this month’s Baltimore Techies for Good meetup, Gary Vaughan will demo how WordPress.com, a simplified version of popular WordPress software, can be a fully functional website for nonprofits. Vaughan is a senior technical consultant with Acuity, Inc., and provides Help Desk support for internal WordPress blogs and websites at the U.S. State Department in Washington D.C. He will explain the pros and cons of the all-in-one WordPress.com platform and the more robust but technical WordPress.Org self-hosted site.

The event will break down the buzz about AI and automation in the manufacturing sector, discover the separation between robotics and business process automation, explore the difference between hardware robots and software robots and identify the roadblocks for automation in businesses and what that means the workforce.
