tiphub, the Impact Hub DC-based accelerator for African-focused ventures, announced the launch of the Prototyping Fund for fledgling projects in collaboration with Coders4Africa.
The program will provide $25,000 worth of consulting and development services to help African or African diaspora entrepreneurs build out a software prototype. Awardees have to cover $5,000 of their project’s development costs, according to the fund’s guidelines.
The fund’s launch was facilitated by connections made between the two founding organizations at tiphub’s Diaspora Demo Day in November, which we covered.
The five or six teams selected by Jan. 9 will release their finished prototype in late March.
