Where does an entrepreneur with lots of love for Baltimore's creative class go during an annual community festival? To see robots, friends and the biggest gatherings of other founders.

We’re asking where prominent Baltimore tech leaders will be during Baltimore Innovation Week, an open calendar of more than 50 events running Sept. 25 to Oct. 3. Find the full calendar here.

Name: Mike Subelsky
Neighborhood: North Baltimore
Job: Cofounder of Staq
Mike Subelsky is the cofounder of adtech startup Staq and a longtime local tech community organizer.
These days the father/founder is running a company and a family, so he can’t be everywhere like he once was. Indeed one of the biggest changes for Subelsky is that this year’s Ignite Baltimore will be the first one he’s ever attended as an audience member, not an organizer.
Here are four Baltimore Innovation Week events Subelsky will not be missing:

1. Innovation Crawl

Taking place right before the big kickoff event for #BIW15 at Power Plant Live!, the Innovation Crawl will scope out eight different businesses in downtown Baltimore. Plus, the finish line, so to speak, is the kickoff festival, where there’ll be food trucks, local tech and a concert. Staq is one of the companies you’ll visit if you join in, too.

2. Robopalooza
  • Sunday, Sept. 27, 12 p.m., Baltimore City Robotics Center

Creative technologies and competitive robotics come together at this family-focused event. If you’re a parent or interested in how youth robotics are preparing the next generation of technologists, be here.

3. Ignite Baltimore
  • Tuesday, Sept. 29, 6 p.m., Falvey Hall

This longtime anchor of Baltimore’s creative community will be a part of Innovation Week for the third year. Listen to 16 speakers give their big ideas about the future.

4. Beta City
  • Thursday, Oct. 1, 1:00-10:30 p.m., Betamore and City Garage

This daylong event is organized by Betamore, Technical.ly, Plank Industries and Startup Maryland. In the afternoon, entrepreneurs will be pitching investors. By the evening, the biggest party of the week will take place at City Garage.

Companies: Staq
