WHO’S GETTING FUNDED?
Point.io, a Wayne-based company offering a platform for businesses to share sensitive information, raised $1 million, according to an SEC filing.
South Jersey biotech company Andrew Technologies raised $6.2 million, according to an SEC filing. One of Andrew Technologies products’ is HydraSolve, liposuction technology that does not involve cutting into the skin.
NewSpring Capital, the Radnor-based venture capital firm, raised $250 million for its third fund last month, according to a press release. This fund is nearly twice the size of its funds number one and two, which were $136 million and $163 million, respectively.
WHO’S GETTING BUZZ?
John Samar, CFO of Greenphire, the King of Prussia-based clinical trial payment company, was nominated for the Philadelphia Business Journal’s CFO of the Year Award in the category of “Small Business.” His competition includes Keith Goldan of Conshohocken pharmaceutical company NuPathe and David DeMedio of Malvern-based payment tech company USA Technologies. Nominate people for other Business Journal Awards like “Women of Distinction” and “Minority Business Leaders” here.
OneTwoSee’s NHL companion app won the award for “Best White Label Sports Social TV Execution or Solution” (yep, that one is a mouthful) at the Sports Social TV Summit in Los Angeles, according to an email from OneTwoSee cofounder Chris Reynolds (the Summit’s website does not list the winners yet). The Center City company beat out the ESPN SportCenter app and FUEL TV‘s Fan Cameo.
