nvite, the D.C.-born ticketing startup founded by Marty Ringlein in 2013, has been acquired by ticketing giant Eventbrite. Fortune reported the news in its “Term Sheet” column — the deal amount was not disclosed.
nvite raised $1 million in August 2014 in a round led by Crystal Tech Fund, the investment arm of Paul Singh’s Disruption Corporation. Since then nvite has become a ticketing favorite for #dctech events, and even created its own page specifically for finding tech events in the District.
Eventbrite, meanwhile, is valued at over $1 billion, according to Fortune.
We’ve reached out to nvite for more on the acquisition and what happens next.
