Johns Hopkins U. to launch new accelerator in Howard County [VIDEO]

Called the Accelerator for the Commercialization of Technology, the new space will the grounds for turning technology developed at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory into a viable business operation.

Designed by the JHU Applied Physics Laboratory, Robo Sally imitates human movements so as to perform operations (such as checking for explosives) that might be hazardous to people.

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory plans to partner with the Howard County Economic Development Authority to open a new accelerator.
Called theĀ Accelerator for the Commercialization of Technology, the new space “will help bring to market technology developed at the massive Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel,” reports theĀ Baltimore Business Journal.
A formal announcement of the partnership and new accelerator is expected at an event today. The BBJ also reports that the accelerator’s base of operations will be inside the Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship.
