Apply for these small business grants

To celebrate its 80th anniversary, the Industrial Bank is giving out $80,000 in small business grants to local entrepreneurs.
“Small businesses are the lifeline of the bank,” said executive vice president for sales and operations Patricia Mitchell. Tech businesses are encouraged to apply.

The grants will range from $15,000 to $20,000, and the deadline is Feb. 15. Hurry — the bank has already received “quite a few applications,” Mitchell tells us.
Qualifying companies must:

  • Be at least one but no more than five years old.
  • Make under $1 million in sales revenue.
  • Be located in D.C., Prince Georges County, Montgomery County, Fairfax County, the City of Arlington, or the City of Alexandria.
