Inside City Hall’s new lighting system

The City of Philadelphia, Center City District and lighting design firm the Lighting Practice partnered to completely update City Hall’s external lighting system in a $6.85 million project.

All of the lights were replaced with LEDs, so now the city can change the colors and add effects for special occasions like holidays and sports victories.

This summer camp is teaching kids to code

“Computer Guts and Robot Brains” partnered with Wilmington-based artist Chez to bring his colorful iconic robots to life. Students are practicing coding and circuitry on giant cardboard versions of Chez’s robots.

Campers also applied their circuitry knowledge to old computers. They took apart donated ones and learned about the different parts.
