Delaware leaders go to Washington
Yesterday was Delaware’s turn to meet with members of the Biden/Harris administration and discuss ways the federal government can impact communities on a local level through legislation such as the CHIPS and Science Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The visit was part of a meeting series, called “Communities in Action,” which began in September 2022 with the event “Building a Better Ohio.”

Out of Philly: CoffeePLUG aims to open up the supply chain
When Philadelphia coffee entrepreneurs Nikisha Bailey and Matthew Nam noticed that Afro-Columbian coffee farmers weren’t represented at a major coffee competition in Columbia, they decided to create a tech platform to connect underrepresented coffee farmers directly to people in the coffee industry.
“Why is this the first time these farmers were able to create a commercial relationship?” Nam asked. Coffee comes from mostly Black and brown countries, he said, but you often don’t see those people represented in the full supply chain.
