About the Opportunity
The Engineering Project Manager leads the development and delivery of technical products through a team of engineers.
You'll create and manage project plans in ClickUp, using gantt charts and dashboards to track resources, budgets, and timelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include running stand-ups, coordinating between engineering disciplines, and maintaining project documentation. The role requires strong project management skills and technical background to identify and address risks early. You'll create and implement standardized processes to improve team efficiency while ensuring clear communication between members of the engineering teams and output progress to leadership.
We're looking for someone with proven experience managing technical projects and engineering teams, along with proficiency in ClickUp and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software development processes.
This is a full time position, hybrid eligible based in Philadelphia at Oat Foundry's HQ. This role reports to Oat Foundry’s President
COMPENSATION & EMPLOYMENT STATUS
This position is full time, at-will and comes with a base salary with variable compensation, and benefits including Unlimited PTO, Health Care, 401(k), Training & Education Credits, Parental Leave, Profit Sharing, and more.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Project Planning & Execution:
- Create and maintain comprehensive project plans using ClickUp, including Gantt charts, milestones, dependencies, and resource allocation
- Develop and track project budgets, including labor hours, materials, and external resources
- Lead stand-ups and weekly project reviews with engineering teams and report outputs to the Leadership team.
- Delivering finished alpha and beta prototypes for evaluation by leadership team
- Transfer of of those alpha and beta prototypes to the manufacturing and marketing teams, once greenlit
- Identify and manage project risks, creating mitigation strategies and contingency plans
Team Management:
- Direct and coordinate activities of engineering team members
- Balance resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects, including approving PTO.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication
- Provide regular feedback and performance input to Leadership
Project Documentation & Tools:
- Maintain project documentation, including:
- Technical specifications
- Project timelines and milestones
- Budget tracking and forecasting in dashboard
- Purchase reconciliation with finance
- Resource allocation and capacity planning
- Create and distribute project status reports to leadership team
- Develop and maintain project dashboards for real-time status monitoring, as necessary
- Document "lessons learned" from completed projects
Process Improvement:
- Review and update existing project templates
- Identify opportunities for process optimization
- Implement best practices for project management
- Standardize project documentation and reporting methods
- Develop templates and procedures for common project types
You will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Communications or related technical field
- 5+ years of project management experience in a technical environment
- Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams
- Proficiency with project management software, specifically ClickUp
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software development processes
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication

ESTIMATED COMPENSATION INFORMATION (YEARLY): $85,000 - $95,000
