The Team

Our Health Modernization Solutions (HMS) team works side by side with customers to articulate a vision for success, and then make it happen. We know success doesn't happen by accident. It takes the right team of people, working together on the right solutions for the customer. We are looking for a seasoned DevOps Engineer who will be a key driver to make this happen.

The Work

Our team will assist HHS and GSA’s Centers of Excellence (CoE) in building a modern IT enterprise architecture with effective data governance and DevSecOps. We will assess the current network, infrastructure, applications, and data, identify strengths, weaknesses, and improvement opportunities, and envision an optimal future IT environment while understanding customer needs.

Key Responsibilities and Job Duties

Experience with both Azure and AWS infrastructure and DevOps, as this is critical for determining the best action for and between both cloud providers.
Support the development of cross-cloud provider solutions ensuring clarity, compliance, and alignment with customer needs. Aligning with customer needs is paramount, as we will be recommending enhancements to their current infrastructure/workflows without entirely replacing it. Configuring quality gates including code reviews, test execution, code quality checks, and code security scans within the CI/CD pipeline
Promoting and applying an automation-first approach to reduce manual configurations by writing custom scripts, configuring robotic process automation, etc.
Managing releases in coordination with development, QA, and business teams
Implement strategies for quick data and metadata restoration in case of deployment failures or other issues
Leading backup and restore strategies, including scheduling data backups and maintaining restoration runbooks
Leading continuous improvements and enhancements to the CI/CD pipeline and team development workflows to evolve best practices
Setting up monitoring and alerting on deployments to detect and address issues
Documenting DevOps code promotion, back promotion, best practices, and environments
Providing technical support, troubleshooting, and training to the development team on continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices
Implementing observability tools to gain insights into system performance, reliability, and utilization to proactively identify potential issues
Configuring alerts on systems issues and leading incident response in collaboration with development teams
Configuring security tools to enforce zero-trust security strategies and least-privilege access controls
Strong proven analytical ability and ability to solve problems independently
Stay abreast of new features and updates of technology
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 1 year of experience with AWS infrastructure and DevOps, as this is critical for determining the best action for and between both cloud providers.
Minimum 3 years of experience in using CI/CD pipeline development tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, and Azure Pipeline
Minimum 3 years of experience in DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment solutions, such as Jenkins
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust
Candidate must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and all work must be performed in the U.S.
Candidate must have lived in the U.S. for three (3) full years out of the last five (5) years

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on a project using the Scaled Agile Framework.
Experience on a software development team building modern software products.
Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary.
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Job Location:

Remote with possible quarterly travel to D.C. This position requires that the job be performed in the United States. If you accept this position, note that ICF monitors employee work locations, blocks access from foreign locations/foreign IP addresses, and prohibits personal VPN connections.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$92,986.00 - $158,076.00
