What might artists, technologists, city planners and policymakers creative if, together, they envision the future of urban development?
That’s what CulturalDC, a D.C. nonprofit that “makes space for art,” wants to know. And so they’re putting on the VISIONDC summit — a day-long discussion and collaboration aimed at “embracing urban growth through the expansion of the creative economy.”
On April 24 VISIONDC will take over Arena Stage in the Southwest waterfront, featuring performances, talks, a maker fair and an “Art Tank” competition inspired by ABC’s Shark Tank. Interesting organized discussions include one on how crowdsourcing might provide a funding mechanism for public art spaces.
