UMBC receives $5K grant for cybersecurity program

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), is the recipient of $5,000 to help defer tuition costs of students enrolled in its Cyber Operations Program.

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), is the recipient of $5,000 to help defer tuition costs of students enrolled in its Cyber Operations Program.
UMBC’s new cybersecurity program — the first class of 10 students received their certificates in October — is a nine-month, part-time certificate program in which students takes classes in such cyber topics as Cisco Certified Network Associate and Certified Ethical Hacker. The course is run out of the UMBC Training Centers.
The grant money comes from the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore, according to a press release.
