There’s a startup-a-thon happening Oct. 5–7 in University City that wants to provide Philly’s Latinx in tech with tools to create their own businesses.
As part of Techstars Startup Weekend Latinx in Tech — a multi-city push to create companies in 54 hours — Philly designers, developers will get coaching from consultants and founders like Joy Carrera, Mac Frederick and Mohamed Zerban.
The event will take place at 1776’s University City spot and will have a handful of TBD-prizes comprised mostly of professional services.
Philly is one of 10 U.S. cities to host a Latinx in Tech weekend, an effort led by Colorado-based Techstars and the Kapor Center.
The overarching goal, Philly-based event organizer Delila Dee said, is to bring together close to 1,000 Latinx innovators around the country.
Get ticketsThough the focus is on providing aspiring Latinx entrepreneurs with an inclusive environment for ideation, Dee said the event is open to anyone who wants to participate.
