SEED SPOT is partnering with Booz Allen Hamilton on a series of programs to help social entrepreneurs in D.C. over the next year.

Through the strategic partnership, the social impact-focused incubator and tech consulting giant are looking to help more than 60 entrepreneurs launching companies over the next year.

The programming offered will be run by SEED SPOT, and Booz Allen Hamilton employees will serve as mentors.

SEED SPOT’s 2-Day Launch Camps are designed to help idea-stage entrepreneurs start companies, with a community pitch night to close it out.

“Through the 2-Day Launch Camp, Booz Allen is committed to investing in military spouse and women founders to give this underserved group an opportunity to disrupt industry through impactful program piloting and prototyping,” Susan Penfield, Booz Allen Chief Innovation Officer, said in a statement.

Three are currently scheduled for the fall, on Sept. 12-13, Oct. 26-27 and Dec. 6-7.

The programming will also include an eight-week Impact Accelerator that dives deeper into business models, and includes a Demo Day. That program runs from Feb.-March 2019.

SEED SPOT initially expanded into D.C. in 2017, and held its initial accelerator cohort. In D.C. and Phoenix over five years, SEED SPOT says it has helped 421 entrepreneurs over the last five years, 49 percent of whom are female  and 45 percent of whom are people of color.
