Just ask Google — having a good résumé is key in the job hunt.
It’s something, seemingly, the whole internet can agree on. What the whole internet can’t agree on, annoyingly, is what a good résumé looks like.
Everyone has their own style, which means that if you’re job hunting there’s only one really reliable place to go for tips — a person who already has the kind of job you want.
Enter Women Who Code DC’s upcoming résumé and portfolio review event, where job seekers can attend to have their “resume and portfolio reviewed by recruiters and experienced women currently working in the tech community.” The event, scheduled for Thursday, April 20 at MakeOffices on K Street, will also cover how to write about tech skills on your résumé and how to speak with recruiters.
If you’re job hunting and looking for a little guidance (and who isn’t in the job hunt process, right?) this certainly sounds like a valuable way to spend an evening. Just remember that résumé suggestions are easy-come and easy-go — the document should ultimately tell your story.
