Looking for a spot to put your boat in the water? Maryland wants you to be able to find an access point on the Apple Watch.
The state’s Department of Natural Resources released an Apple Watch app that points out nearby fishing holes, water trails and other aquatic oases that are prime for boating.

The app pairs with the Department’s AccessDNR app to geolocate the 10 boating access points closest to you at any given point. Another function tells users if the site is a boat ramp or a soft launch directly from shore. In the future, the state hopes to add more water trails, and broaden the app to include land trails and push alerts from the state.
Don’t forget, though: “Submerging Apple Watch is not recommended,” according to the user guide.
Officials say Maryland is the first state to create such an app for Apple Watch. It was built by Maryland NIC, which has a self-funded services contract with the state. The app came at no additional charge to taxpayers, officials said.
