Just announced: 2017 Game Devs of Color Expo

Headed up by Catt Small, the expo will host talks, education and, duh, games.

The Brooklyn Gamery will organize the Game Devs of Color Expo this spring, to help people from underrepresented racial communities get a leg up into the game design industry.

The event will feature panel discussions, talks, educational sessions, and an arcade, each with and by game developers of color.

“Hear discussions about the game development process, representation in games, and experiences within the games industry as people from different backgrounds in the large-capacity auditorium,” according to the event. “Try out a selection of incredible games made by people of color in the spacious arcade.”

The event is being organized, at least in part, by Catt Small, a game dev of color herself, as well as a speaker and activist in the games/tech space.

Organizers are looking for proposals as well, with a deadline of March 15.
