Google to host free workshops at Delaware Libraries

The "Grow with Google" tour will hit Wilmington on April 23 and Dover on April 25.

Delaware entrepreneurs and job seekers, you’re not going to want to miss this opportunity.

Google will be in town the week of April 22 as part of its “Grow With Google” tour of U.S. libraries, when Google teams, presenters and coaches will offer free digital skills workshops as part of the company’s economic opportunity initiative that aims to help job seekers and small businesses.

The first stop with be Wilmington Library on Tuesday, April 23, which will feature Sen. Tom Carper and Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester speaking a noon on the importance of computer training and digital skills. There will be four workshops throughout the day:

  • Discover Digital Resources to Empower Your Community (10 a.m. to 11 a.m.)
  • Reach Customers Online with Google (12 p.m. to 1 p.m.)
  • Using Data to Drive Business Growth (2 p.m. to 3 p.m.)
  • Power Your Job Search with Google Tools (4 p.m. to 5 p.m.)

The program will then hop to Dover on Thursday, April 25, with another four:

  • Discover Digital Resources to Empower Your Community (9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.)
  • Reach Customers Online with Google (11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
  • Digital Skills for Everyday Tasks (1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.)
  • Simple Steps to Online Safety (3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
