How women in tech events can be paradoxical [PODCAST]

At a 2012 session held by TechGirlz, a nonprofit that aims to get more girls interested in tech.

Women in tech events, like a female investor roundtable or a session of women technologists speaking about their careers, are undoubtedly important.

These kinds of events have the power to inspire. They offer a platform to a minority group in the tech scene. They create community within a tech scene.

But sometimes? Sometimes they can also single out women technologists as “the other,” in a way that perhaps isn’t always helpful.
