Code Differently is kicking off weekly tech ‘learning shops’ for kids with a free intro

The classes are geared toward elementary and middle school kids.

Code Differently, an experimental learning program based out of the Emerging Enterprise Center in Wilmington, is launching a weekly Youth Technology Learning Shop for students in grades 3 through 8.

The interactive coding classes are project-based and teach software development practices as kids are prepared for advanced coding classes.

Weekly classes are held on Mondays at the Emerging Enterprise Center, 920 Justison St. in Wilmington, from 6 to 7 p.m., and Tuesdays at the Greater Newark Boys and Girls Club, 109 Glasgow Drive in Newark, from 6 to 7 p.m.

Classes are $129 per month, but the kid in your life can try it for free at one of three popup classes being held in Wilmington, Newark and Middletown, all from 6 to 7 p.m.:

  • On Monday, Oct. 28, class will be held at the Emerging Enterprise Center.
  • On Tuesday, Oct. 29, there will be a class at the Riverfront and at Buffalo Wild Wings in Middletown.
  • On Wednesday, Oct. 30, class will be held at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Middletown.
