Calling all local startups: UD’s Horn Program wants you

A new class is looking for local startup founders to lend a hand. “We're looking for two companies who will allow us to help them, while at the same time, their participation will be helpful to our class,” said professor Ted Foltyn.

The University of Delaware Horn Program in Entrepreneurship is adding marketing veteran, entrepreneur and UD alumnus Ted Foltyn to its expanding staff as an adjunct professor to teach a new entrepreneurial marketing class to Horn Program students. The curriculum is focused on uncovering the true value of new products — from positioning and pricing to preparing for launch.
Right now, Foltyn is looking for local startup founders interested in shaping the minds of future entrepreneurs — and in turn, helping themselves.
“We’re looking for two companies who will allow us to help them, while at the same time, their participation will be helpful to our class,” said Foltyn, who spent over 20 years in marketing at Johnson & Johnson before moving to Exalenz Bioscience in 2013. He left Exalenz earlier this summer to launch his own consulting firm, Foltyn Consulting, where he advises small and early-stage companies in marketing and sales development.
“Ideally, we’re looking for products or services that are being developed, or were just recently launched and would benefit from fresh insights and analysis,” said Foltyn. “This will give the students an opportunity to apply our course material immediately to a real, emerging product.”
Interested startup founders can contact Foltyn at tjfoltyn@udel.edu.
