Black Girl Ventures’ Boss Up! Pitch Competition is back for spring

The March 29 edition of the live crowdfunding and pitch event will be held at WeWork M St. SE.

Black Girl Ventures’ is set to hold its latest live crowdfunding event for spring.

The Boss Up! Pitch competition is scheduled for March 29 at WeWork 80 M St. SE.

As we’ve reported, the Boss Up Pitch Competition was created by Shelly Bell as part pitch competition, part crowdfunding opportunity. Buying a ticket to attend the event helps provide funding for the entrepreneurs, and attendees provide feedback.

“Not only does the community help raise the money, but the community helps pick the winner,” Bell told us last year.

Black Girl Ventures got backing from Beacon DC last year, and recently expanded the pitch competitions to Baltimore.
