Baltimore Innovation Week, Maryland’s largest open and accessible celebration of technology and entrepreneurship, will take place from Oct. 6 to Oct. 12, 2018 across a variety of venues, celebrating the technology, entrepreneurship and innovation communities in and around Baltimore for the seventh year.

From its origins in 2012, the goal of the week has been to celebrate the existing vibrant community and welcome more to join. Ahead of the seventh edition, longtime local leader Emerging Technology Centers steps up to lead the week’s organization to refresh the programming. ETC will be supported by the founding organizer of the series, Technical.ly, the network of local tech news sites, which will focus on its annual Developer Conference, taking place on Oct. 10, 2018.
With the help of the ETC, dozens of tech community groups and educational institutions will independently produce daily official #BIW18 events categorized into seven tracks including Access, Business, Civic, Creative, Media, Dev (short for web and product development) and Sciences that shine a spotlight on the local establishments and startups.
“Baltimore Innovation Week has been an asset for the City of Baltimore to showcase diversity and inclusion across a wide spectrum of innovation and entrepreneurship. As a leader in the City in these areas, ETC is proud to take the lead as we move this annual program forward,” said ETC President Deborah Tillett. “It’s important that the city come together to tell Baltimore’s story nationally.”
