At the Baltimore County Public Library, kids can now put their learning on Playaway.
The library has partnered with Playaway, a company that makes learning devices that are pre-loaded with content. The library is part of Playaway’s pilot for its new Launchpad devices.
The Android tablets come with 10 learning apps that are broken down by grade level and content area. The content is offered in subject (science, math) or theme (princesses, dinosaurs).
According to BCPL, the devices can be loaned for seven days, just like a library book. They’re available at the library’s Towson, Owings Mills and Rosedale branches.
