Tell us how Atlanta should tell its startup story: Tomorrow Tour

A lot is working in Atlanta’s startup community. It has attracted tech entrepreneurs with its lower costs, supported a new generation of local founders, developed a homegrown web anchor, made connections to its corporate community and established its center of gravity.

Now local champions (and Atlanta has plenty) want more people to know it. If you walked into the #ChooseATL House in Austin during SXSW last weekend, you might have found a mix of founders, fans and friends making the case that the city of 450,000 is primed to be known for its innovation work.

Over the din of local music, you could get a cocktail from the mixed-drink robot startup Monsieur that raised $2 million in seed funding or meet MBA students from Georgia Tech. You could speak to an executive from the Cartoon Network, part of the Turner media behemoth, or a gaggle of technologists who worked for other early stage companies.

Surely Atlanta has its own ingredients, but its desire to leverage them into wider national celebrity for disruptive technology and fast growing companies isn’t unusual. That much we’ve learned in this first leg of the Tomorrow Tour, a multi-city event series Technical.ly is producing with Comcast NBCUniversal.

But when we visit Atlanta this week, the final stop on this inaugural six-city tour, the goal will be to better understand what is distinct about Atlanta and how that story can be told. Join us Wednesday, March 23 at the Atlanta Tech Village from 5-7:30 p.m. for this free, engaging roundtable, which will follow a day of conversations with local founders.
